Proper Introductions

My wonderful daughter-in-law, Becca set me up a Blog when I went down to Texas to visit last week. She hears the stories that I share about our kids and thought that I should share them with friends, family and whoever else takes an interest. She is VERY talented and has started a business where she can work from home and take care of their 16 month old son (my first of hopefully many grandchildren!), Jaxton Mitchell. You can check out her Blog at:   http://www.theparopost.blogspot.com/   and you can check out her business at :  http://www.jumpingjaxdesigns.com/.
I am happily married, living in a small town in Central Illinois, and have 4 children. My husband's name is John. We dated for 6 years and have been married for 15 as of May 27, 2010! He runs a bank in our hometown and also helps with the family farm. Professionally, I am a Nurse as well as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. I currently run a small Intermediate Long Term Care Facility in a town just 7 miles from where I live.   Travis Mitchell is my oldest son. He married Becca (who he met in College) right after graduation and started a life with her in Austin, TX. As I mentioned before, my baby boy now has a baby boy of his own, and I could not be more proud of the man, husband, and father that he has become. My oldest daughter, Samantha Jo will be 13 in a few days. She enjoys singing and cheerleading and is just about as big of a Drama Queen as they come. She is attached to her cell phone at all times and thinks that everything in life (including school) should take a backseat to her Social Life! Maxwell Payton just turned 9 years old. He was 1/2 ounce shy of being a 10 pound baby, and has not slowed down growing for a second. He plays Baseball and does Karate. He is also going to try his hand at football in a few weeks. He is a tender hearted kid, so we will see how that goes. We also have to find a helmet that is big enough to fit as he was born with a 16 inch head and that has not stopped growing either! (His brothers college football helmet was too small for him when he was 6 years old so wish us luck!) Last, but certainly not least is Raegan Elizabeth, who is 6 1/2 going on 30. When we were trying to decide on a name for her, we both liked the name, Raegan. We looked it up in the "baby name" book and found it to mean : "Little Ruler". She has not disappointed us in living up to THAT! She indeed Rules the Roost! She is a little Diva! She has done gymnastics and has asked to try out "HipHop" dance lessons this fall. She also enjoys anything that involves irritating her older sister. She spends every Saturday with her MAW, whose eyes Raegan can do no wrong in!
That about sums it up! I am going to try to Blog once a week (maybe every 2 weeks) just to share with all the other moms who are so busy (wearing so many different hats) that sometimes we cannot even tell which way is up. Also to keep friends and family up to date on the goings on in our lives! Hopefully I will even be able to add pics, soon! (remember folks....I am new at this.....have patience!!!!)

Welcome to my blog, I got a tattoo!

Ok, not really, but my 12-year-old daughter did just vandalize my right ankle with a Sharpie. I am now sporting a vine and a hard-to-read "Tina" until I can scrub it off with nail polish remover or it wears off. Hope people don't think I'm too trashy, haha!

Anyway, welcome to my blog. It is titled as such because as a mom, as you all know, we "wear many hats". That of a chef, as I serve a short order cook to my son. That of a chauffeur, as I cart my children from activities ranging from cheerleading to karate. That of policeman, as I settle a dispute about who gets to eat the last of the sour cream 'n' onion chips. That of a nurse (as I do my job, of course and also), as I apply band-aids to mosquito bites because that's the only thing that keeps the kids from itching them. And last, but certainly not least, my 24-7 job and hat that I wear, that of a maid, as I scrub dog poop out of the carpet and off of the TV screen, because my son thought it appropriate to lay down and rub his poop-covered feet all over the Teletubbies on the screen.

Come and stay a while, and feel free to leave me some comment love!
